Conrad, and Magdalena Zurawski. The evening will be wrapped up with a whiskey-whipped dance party provided by Junktape Productions. Belly-dancing, collaborative writing and whiskey games start at 7:00 pm. Show starts at 7:30 pm.

TypewriterGirls Gone Esoteric?

January 4th, 2009

The TypewriterGirls have finally done it–They’ve harnessed the powers of the eternal and infinite creative and destructive flames that inspired and consumed our great artistic and mystical heroes– from Enheduanna and Sappho to Byron and Shelly. Join The Philly Area Cabaret and ourselves as we delve in the forces of nature which most choose to leave in the shadows and release the powers of our collective unconsciousness.

Explore the murderous side your being with a terrifying story-telling session by Elizabeth Carter; watch burlesque dancing by dark, punk rock bacchanals, Dirty Deeds from West Philly; allow yourself to be hypnotized by the verbal spells of poets Molly Prosser and Mary Biddinger; and then let dark cabaret singer Julianne Marie Dous enchant you until night’s end. As always, your spiritual guides Crystal and Margaret will be leading the evening with necromantic theatrics, esoteric performance, and three bottles of cheap whiskey.

Throughout the night a typewriter exquisite corpse, a fortune teller, a magician will be available to help you release your inner daemons. And, of course, in true Your Inner Vagabond style, there will be a lovely belly dancer—just, in case—you never know when you’ll need one of those.

Doors Open at 7:30 Show Starts at 8:00

TypewriterGirls Gone Esoteric?

December 13th, 2008

Just to let you all know. Something. Something strange. Something powerful. Something magical. Something horrific. Something mystical. Something involving sacrifices of small furry creatures. Something without consciouness. Something undead, yet strangely arousing in a bright pink tubetop. (Are you getting the idea yet?) Will occur at Your Inner Vagabond on January 18th at 7:00. Be there. With a vile of rodent blood. We’ll let you know why later.
